Winter Solstice Drum Gathering

The Winter Solstice marks the darkest time of the year, with the longest night and shortest day. On this day the sun is reborn and the days will soon begin to get longer. The Winter Solstice is also a time to take stock of what we have achieved, of stillness and rest.

About the Event

The Winter Solstice - also known as Yuletide - marks the darkest time of the year, with the longest night and shortest day. Until now, the days have been getting shorter but on this day the sun is reborn and the days will soon begin to get longer. Our ancestors celebrated the return of the sun with feasting and music.

We will begin our gathering by creating a beautiful ceremony to honour the season, then we will learn about ancient Yuletide traditions and folklore before exploring how the Winter Solstice can support personal and spiritual development.

The theme for the gathering is taking stock, self-care and stillness and we will take a shamanic journey to tap into the wisdom of our guides at this special time, followed by a beautiful Winter Solstice fire ceremony to honour the Solstice and set our intentions for the coming months. We will then close the ceremony before enjoying a traditional wassail and home-made Yuletide treats.

We will drum together in ceremony and community, so please bring a drum with you if you have one.

The gathering will start at 7.00 pm and finish around 9.00 pm.

Tickets are £20 and places are strictly limited so booking is essential. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable to other events if you change your mind or can no longer attend. In the unlikely event that we cancel the workshop, you will of course be given a full refund.

Once you have booked your place, we will email you with full details of the gathering, the address and what to bring with you. If you have any questions at all or any accessibility requirements you would like to discuss, please email thewildedges@pm.me
